Face of shame: Teacher, 35, charged after having sex in a motel with 16-year-old student (PICTURED)

Cynthia Lynn Herr, 35, is being
held on $20,000 bail after allegedly having
sex with a teenage boy at a Florida motel
A special education teacher has been
arrested after allegedly having sex at a
motel with a teenage student.
Cynthia Lynn Herr, 35, was charged on Monday
with four counts of unlawful sexual activity
with a minor after the incident involving a
16-year-old boy last month.
Herr, who works at John D. Floyd
Kindergarten in Hernando County, Florida, is
being held at the local jail on $20,000
bail.
Herr picked up the boy in her car on August
24 and took him to motel in the county where
they had consensual sex four times,
according to the Hernando County Sheriff's
Office.
The 35-year-old was caught after she told a
colleague who subsequently informed the
school authorities, according to the Orlando
Sentinel.
Herr is described as an exceptional student
education teacher at John D. Floyd School of
Environmental Science in Spring Hill.
Investigators interviewed the teenage boy
who admitted that he had had sexual
encounters with the teacher. It is not clear
if the boy was taught by Herr.
The teacher later admitted to having sex
with her student at the motel on a Saturday
last month.
The Hernando County School Board was told of
the teacher's arrest. Herr does not have any
prior arrests in the county.
The John D Floyd K-8 School teaches children
from kindergarten up the the 8th grade.
Herr, 35, is a special education teacher at
John D Floyd school in Hernando Country,
Florida
