The third stage of the 2013 Nestle Milo Football Clinic began in Port Harcourt on Tuesday. The first leg of the programme for children between 9 and 13 started in Abuja a fortnight ago and ended in Benin on Saturday.
In Port Harcourt, about 2,000 pupils are expected to feature in the programme that teaches youngsters the basics of football in addition to real life values off the pitch. The Benin centre had nearly 2,500 pupils in attendance.
Category Business Manager, Beverages, Nestle Nigeria Plc, Doja Ekeruche, said the programme is aimed at youth development.
She said, "Through the clinic, the children develop the technical skills of the football games while also imbibing the lifelong social values learnt from sports (Determination, Discipline, Respect, Honesty and team work). This makes them champions not only in sports but also in life."
