Officials of the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) on Monday visited Ogba Junior Secondary School, Ikeja as investigations continued into Thursday's collapse of more than 20 pupils of the school.
There was confusion at Ogba Junior Grammar School, Lagos, on Thursday after about 22 pupils fell unconscious.
It was learnt that the incident was caused by a gaseous substance emitting from a neighbouring laboratory, close to the school. The chemical was said to have engulfed the entire school.
Though they were all revived on Thursday, four of the pupils had to be hospitalised for further medical attention.
The LASEPA team was led by the General Manager, Mr Adebola Shabi.
Shabi, who did not disclose the team's findings so far, told journalists that investigation was still ongoing.
He said that a team of environmentalists would on Tuesday visit the nearby photo laboratory where the emission was suspected to have come from.
``Investigation is still ongoing; we will be inspecting the laboratory on Tuesday with representatives of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control,`` he said.
It was observed that academic activities have returned as pupils were seen learning. Teachers and other workers were also seen going about their duties.
A school official, who refused to mention her name, said that almost all the hospitalised pupils had been discharged.
"We are all happy; everything is back to normal; we are grateful to God," she said.
